Dear Harlan:
Happy one month birthday! (a day early)
Just so you know, the point of this blog is to provide some of my favorite memories of you growing up before I forget them. My goal will be to post around 8-10 memories a year. Without further ado...
So you were born just a little guy at 5 pounds, 13 ounces on 1-7-17 at 6:38pm. Since you were on the small side, you spent most of your first week at the hospital while you increased your blood sugar levels. After finally taking you home, I had my "welcome back to fatherhood" moment changing you around 1 am one night. I was well prepared, or so I thought, having the new diaper in place underneath. I open up the old diaper and quickly close it as you began peeing almost immediately. I was so proud of myself for catching it and not getting peed on. Next, I removed the diaper and throw it away, immediately you pooped in the new diaper and I am proud again that my prep work paid off...but then you started peeing again all over the place and on me. I move the diaper to catch some only to have you poop some more right on the changing table. I throw out diaper #2 and then you pee again for the 3rd time! Oh, the joys of fatherhood. :)
Love you so much,
Dad
Ps: Here are a few pics from the hospital.
