Proper Encouragement

Hi Harlan:

This past weekend, we are at a friend's house and you were playing with their two-year old son.  Every time you walked by me and I wasn't drinking my adult beverage, you would grab my hand and put it on my drink...then you would wait until I took a sip.  Thank you for the encouragement!

Love you so much,
Dad

Ps:  Took you for your first hair cut...it did not go so well:

Also, here is a picture from Halloween.  You were a minion this year.

Few things

Harlan:

Just wanted to post a couple cute things over the past several months.

1. My favorite is probably the other day when Grandma Donna walked by and you had your finger up your nose.  She said "someone's got a finger up their nose?!"  You responded by changing from your right index finger to your left index finger.  I found it hilarious

2. My second favorite is you dancing at a wedding.  Everyone started to "do the Harlan!"  It was really, really cute.

Here are some pics of you that are my favorites:

Dancin' Harlan!

Harlan:

So your Grandma Donna got you the most annoying duck dancing toy that you absolutely love.  Here is a great video of your dance moves:

Also, yesterday you took the most steps I have seen you take...around 10 to get the bouncing balls.  I was so excited I neglected to catch your fall into the stroller tire (no damage though, ;)  ).

Love you,
Dad

First Birthday and Christmas

Hi Harlan:

So you are now one year and one month old today.  Last night we played a fun game of throwing a ball up the stairs to watch it roll back down.  I would throw the ball and then you would grab it after it stopped rolling and then hand to me.  We probably did it about 20 times...you were very entertained.

You are also starting to talk.  Your first word was definitely "Light".  I was trying to get you to say "Da" by saying it to you three straight times.  You only respond "Light, Light, Light!"  Oh well.  You have now said "Mama" and "Up" but I am hopeful you will be saying dad soon.

Oh, below are a couple of pictures from your first birthday and Christmas...love you!

You would not tell me what you told Santa. :)

This was your first time seeing penguins at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha!
